Saturday in Memphis

Last year we decided that we would each take one of the weekend days to plan activities. Bryce gets the odd days and I get the even ones. We started Saturday by going to the local farmers' market. It was a good thing that Bryce is persistant, b/c it was very difficult to find. I was hot, hungry and grumpy- I was willing to give up. But, we found it and I bought a small basket of exceptional peaches, yummy! Much to Bryce's chagrin, I also bought a few zuchini and squash. (How do you pluralize those???)

After grocery shopping and buying school supplies we drove in to Memphis to the Liberty Bowl for some sort of University of Memphis "Tiger Fans" celebration. The idea is that you can mingle around with the football team, get autographs, and buy your season tickets. We just wanted to see the stadium and be a part of a unique Memphis experience.


Bryce and the Liberty Bowl stadium, just look at the sea of blue! I should have taken a picture of the parking lot, there was Memphis memorbilia EVERYWHERE.

I wanted a good picture of a big lineman and a little kid getting an autograph. I took several and didn't really like any of them. Too bad.

This is "Pouncer" the mascot. Who names their mascot Pouncer?? Can you guess where the longest line in the stadium was??? Yep, you got it... to get Pouncie's autograph. You gotta love the kids!

Our first free baseball game...

Mama Clark, here's the picture of me you requested. I'm usually the one manning the camera, I don't usually stop to let Bryce take a picture of me... sorry! This picture shows our happy faces at being only 5 or 6 rows back from homeplate during one of the last Redbirds games. Bryce won tickets during his orientation at SCO and scored us some fabulous seats. We even had the opportunity to sit by the 3rd year student and her husband who had the seats in the first place (they got them thru the husband's company). They even promised to take us to a Memphis Grizzlies game. Yeah! They also introduced Bryce to a Memphis original- BBQ nachos- yep, that's just what they sould like. He was impressed!

A few nights later while standing in line to buy "cheap seats" tickets a man and his wife gave us tickets. I believe their exact words were, "honey, I saw you're pregant and I said to my husband, she CANNOT sit on the hill. They need seats!"

Don't worry family, we're being taken care of!

This is the view from our living room looking into the kitchen. The door we're looking at is home to our washer and dryer. Hallelujah!

Here's my desk and the one chair cushion I've finished so far. I've cut out all the pieces, the "hard work" is done, I just need to break out the sewing machine and get them done!

This is our "art gallery" bathroom. Really, nothing says RELAXING like being surrounded by bright flowers. The mango color on the wall to the right is one of the towels. Love it!

This is a shot of our "dining room" taken from the sink in the kitchen looking toward the living room. Yes, we are using patio furniture as our table and chairs. I prefer to think of it as "garden" or French cafe!

Our Move to Memphis

Sorry that it has been so long since I last posted any pictures. I ran out of patience trying to put baby shower pictures on and gave up. I will get those on later and will soon be adding pictures of our cute little home for all to enjoy.

Bryce's Work Party

A week, or so, ago Mom, Bryce and I spent the day in Mountain Villiage and Telluride for Bryce's work party. They put on an impressive feast for us and then we took the gondola (it's free!) down into Telluride. We wandered around the shops there and enjoyed ourselves immensely (even inspite of the rain!)

We found a fun second hand clothing shop in Telluride. We had fun "trying on" several items. This is Bryce's SWEET shirt with an indian dancer on it. Unfortunately, we decided to be practical and didn't buy it.

Bryce is admiring my hat at the shop. Why is it that hat-wearing has become a eccentricity indulged in only by wealthy older women??? Bring back the hats!
